Spinning out is an interesting American drama web television series that involves the struggles of mental health. Kaya Scodelario plays Kat Baker, a young ice skater who suffered a serious injury due to a fall that was supposed to stop her from living her dream. She then meets Justin Davis, her new partner who gives her a new opportunity to realize her Olympic dreams. Together, they face a roller coaster on and off the ice skating rink. Besides her injury, Kat Baker also struggles with bipolar disorder, which runs in her family. Afraid people will find out as it will jeopardize her career, she works hard to keep it a secret.

She told The Hollywood Reporter: “Mental health has been a very important part of my personal life for a long time. I have a close family member who I’ve cared for a long time and seen in manic states. I wanted to be part of something that shone a light on mental health in a realistic way, especially for young people.”
Scodelario’s passion to draw attention to mental health can be seen through her amazing acting, bringing audiences and fans through an emotional journey throughout the show.
