For the past five years, Silicon Valley has taken us all on quite the ride. It introduced us to some of the most lovable and determined tech geniuses around.

It brought everyone a little closer to the world of that famous Californian technology hub in the Bay Area.

The Emmy-winning HBO comedy series has run for six nearly-perfect seasons. On December 8, 2019, it aired the finale episode which bid goodbye to the much-loved series.

And much like the 52 episodes that came before it, “Exit Event” was nothing less than an enjoyable and satisfying romp.

Silicon Valley Season 6 Finale Explained

The guys’ Pied Piper software was the idea that started in it all. In Episode 7 of Season 6, the world was finally introduced to it. In the very same episode, we had to bid it goodbye for the sake of the very world it was set to serve.

Such is life. Some things work out, and some things don’t. The Pied Piper project might have fallen under the latter category, but it definitely changed the lives of all who were involved in its creation.

We may not have seen all of the loose ends when it comes to the Pied Piper tie-up, but we do see the characters we have all come to love in a ‘documentary’ set 10 years into the future.

Richard now teaches as a professor at Stanford University, which Big Head is the new president of. Dinesh and Gilfoyle have since become proud owners of their very own cybersecurity firm.

Monica works for the NSA, Jared for a nursing home, and Gavin Belson as a romance novelist for an esteemed publisher. On the other side of the coin, Laurie is serving time in prison, and Jian Yang is in exile, having fled to a foreign country long ago.

And the Pied Piper? The last few minutes of the episode reveals to us that the application may still be alive, as Richard has saved it in a flash drive he is still yet to locate.

Will There Be a Season 7?

The fans of the show were all generally happy with how the events of the last episode played out. Our favorite characters all got their happy endings. Now, will there be a Silicon Valley Season 7?

Unfortunately for us all, there will be no more new episodes of Silicon Valley. It was announced as early as May of 2019 that the fan-favorite show would be ending with its sixth season.

That was the plan all along. Showrunners Mike Judge and Alec Berg said it so themselves. There was no way they would risk the quality of their show for the sake of money or ratings.

It all worked out in the end. We may no longer get to see new hi-jinks from Richard Hendricks and his friends, but we will always get to look back on a great show.
